Importing Contact Data: Get the Organization and Relationship

Importing data into your account starts with a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file.  If you have a MS Excel spreadsheet or any other type of data file you will need to save the file as a CSV.

The Import area (Admin > Import/Export) accommodates a number of types of data imports.  Review an earlier video of the import process by clicking here.

It is important to review the nature of the target data intended for import and make sure there is a proper field in the database to place the data.  Your account allows you to create any number of custom fields that can be designated for import.

  • If you have Organizations already in the database, it is a simple matter to import additional contacts and preserve the relationship with the Organization already known in the database.

    NOTE: use Organization, Contact, Sales Team import profile
